Spiritual Care

There are times in life when God seems distant and times when reaching clarity on a decision seems confusing and hopeless. Throughout the history of the Church, there has been a set apart one-on-one ministry that was known as spiritual direction and/or spiritual guidance.   What I am terming "spiritual care" is the same idea. It is different from formation coaching to the degree that what is processed in conversation is specifically one's relationship with God. It's a mutual, non-hierarchical relationship, where listening and being heard is vital. It's in this listening, that a spiritual-hearing occurs that provides encouragement and discernment for one's spiritual path.

This type of ministry is often seasonal in that it can be helpful in times of transition and change. Some may desire a regular rhythm of meeting to discuss areas of spiritual growth, and this occurs on an ongoing basis.

“Anthony was a Soul Friend to me for three years, and in this short time, I began to experience a healing of my capacity to trust others and the deeper joy that comes with being in a more significant relationship with God and others. His Soul Friendship was a lived intercession and I trust this will be the case for you too.”
